Ranked among the nation’s most prestigious and selective institutions of higher learning, the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut is an academic and military community educating future leaders for America. Founded in 1876, it is the smallest of the nation’s federal service academies.
Each year, approximately 10,000 students inquire about admissions. Of those that submit applications, 300 will be appointed and sworn into their respective Class. A scholarship valued at $400,000, the Coast Guard Academy appointment offers a total integrated life experience.
Jarrod Jackson’s distinguished achievements in high school are acknowledged by receiving an appointment to the Coast Guard Academy, where he will be playing basketball. Jarrod has been an outstanding student-athlete where he maintained a 4.2 GPA, while also performing well in two sports, basketball and soccer. In addition to scoring over 1,000 points, his other awards include All-Region and All-Area for 3 years; 4 all-tournament teams; team captain for 2 years; and Scholar-Athlete Award for 4 years. Other notable achievements at Central include Heisman Award, Lion Award, Georgia Merit Scholar, Junior Marshal Award, Student Council for 3 years, All-Region soccer team and 2017 Ga. Coach Assoc. All-Star soccer teams.
