Isaiah Terry – Isaiah was one of the few Central Middle School English Language Arts honor students to experience “Shadow Day”. Due to his passion for sports and his desire to learn more, sports medicine was an easy choice for his research topic. Terry spent countless hours in the library, computer lab, and classroom gathering information about sports medicine. On Thursday, February 11th, 2016, he submitted his completed research project and received an A.
In addition, Isaiah had to observe an actual workday of certificated professional. Therefore, he proceeded to shadow Bill Green. Bill Green is a well-educated athletic trainer who has worked on the University of West Georgia sports medicine staff for over ten years. On Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016, Bill answered all of Isaiah questions related to sports medicine. Bill also demonstrated numerous treatments, practices, and recovery exercises for athletes. Isaiah’s highlight of the day was meeting the UWG men’s basketball team who were 2015 – 2016 Gulf South Conference champs. He was honored to help Bill treat the players before their up-tempo full contact practice. Terry said, “Shadow day was a great experience and inspired me more to pursue a sport medicine degree.” The Basketball Brotherhood, Inc. would like to thank Bill Green and UWG athletics for this educational opportunity.
